Why we stayed on our block (when others left)
We believe the church of Jesus is called to be present where HOPE is needed most. We love walking along side our neighbors, building lasting relationships, providing practical support and being a steady witness of Christ’s love in this community. We are on mission invested with new construction and a new church…..for such a time as this!

We value children and teens new at New Room GMC. Our heart is to come alongside parents in assisting their children to Know Jesus, Grow into His likeness, and Go into the world as His disciple. Every child is a gift from God, is unique and every child is special.
Children learn and absorb ideas like little sponges, but every child needs to ask questions–sometimes tough questions until they make the faith their own.
God is raising up a fresh expression in our generation of the eighteenth century Methodist revival that transformed nations where scripture reigns supreme, love is practically expressed, all God’s children are valued and protected, and the ways of Jesus are contagious.
We share the SAME dream of Methodism’s founder when he said…..
“I continue to dream and pray about a revival of holiness in our day that moves forth in mission and creates authentic community in which each person can be unleashed through the empowerment of the Spirit to fulfill God’s creational intentions.” – John Wesley.
Call us optimists but we believe God always has a better way and breaks through every culture’s noise and confusion to meet people right where they live, work, and dream.
Why New Room?
In 1734, John Wesley began preaching in the open air of England to those who had been left out and cast off from the religious system of the day. This move of the Holy Spirit touched off a Revival that impacted the world. As men and women responded to the life-saving hope of Jesus, they NEEDED a place to worship together and to disciple and care for the practical needs of a people suffering from economic need. Today, you can tour that historic NEW ROOM chapel in Bristol, England.
In Carbondale, the Lord called Victory Dream Center in the wave of that same 18th century revival. Since 2010, we have seen God bring thousands of hurting, hungry, broken people to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Now... We are building New Room.
